Tori Stødle performs new piano repertoire commissioned through EPTA Norway for students at an intermediate level. Ten Norwegian composers contributed to the project, which was supported by the Norwegian Council for Cultural Affairs. Madsen’s contribution is Andante cantabile. In the project notes reproduced by Notebutikken, he describes it as an exercise in finger legato. The recording brings his piece together with music by Maja Ratkje, Ketil Vea, Eyvind Solås, Bjørn Kruse, Magne Hegdal, Eivind Buene, Wolfgang Plagge, Synne Skouen and Terje Bjørklund.
